Cancer Treatment: How I Helped My Cousin

Having a loved one who is battling cancer is challenging. I know the situation is difficult, but I do not want my loved one to feel sick. So when my favourite cousin got the ailment, I ensured I would always be by her side without making her feel less. Before she underwent prostate cancer treatment in Singapore, I always did things for her, like how good cousins do. But I became extra mindful around her during the procedure. She experienced things I would never know of, so I was patient when I was with her. Being with my cousin is one of the best things in my life, so I ensured that I was with her through her ups and downs.

HOW I HELPED MY COUSIN WHO HAD CANCER TREATMENT IN SINGAPORE

When I was a kid, my cousin was the only person I could talk and play with because we did not have siblings, and we treated each other like one. We were almost inseparable not until we went to college. It was also when we learned about her cancer. Because I did not want to see her suffer too much, I went to their house and helped her with things where she needed me. What I did for her was simple to some, but I know that it means a lot to her. When she was having her prostate cancer treatment, here are the things I did for her:

1. I CHECKED THE FOOD SHE COULD AND COULD NOT EAT

Cancer patients need all the nutrients to help with their treatment and recovery. Since I was not knowledgeable enough in cooking, I researched the food she could and could not eat. I also suggested some meals that could provide the nutrients she requires. They have been helpful to my cousin, especially during her proton therapy in Singapore.

2. I ASSISTED HER IN DOING HOUSEHOLD CHORES

Doing household chores is not easy, especially cleaning the entire house and washing the dishes. So to help her with those, I assisted her with everything. Sometimes, I am the only one doing everything to give her time to rest. It also became one of our bonds, so I did not mind the tiredness.

3. I ACCOMPANIED HER TO EVERY CHECK-UP AND TEST

I was with her every time she visited a radiation oncologist in Singapore. I was there to guide her if she had a check-up or needed to undergo a test. We could feel the presence of each other, even if we were not talking much because she was nervous. I understand if she wants to focus on herself, so I did not push my wants on her.

These deeds might look simple, but they are everything to my cousin. These are where I focused on how I could help her, considering I was still a student. My cousin is now cancer-free and is the happiest woman I know. Good thing we visited the website of Dr Johann Tang for the available cancer treatment in Singapore.
